Silk Care Guide
Pure silk sarees are heirlooms. With a little care, your Kanchipuram and Pattu sarees will stay lustrous for generations.
Storage
Wrap your saree in a soft muslin or cotton cloth and store it away from direct sunlight. Avoid plastic covers, which trap moisture and dull the zari.
Cleaning
Always dry-clean pure silk sarees. Never machine wash. Blot spills gently with a dry cloth — do not rub.
Folding
Refold your saree along different lines every few months to prevent permanent creases and zari damage along the folds.
Handling zari
Keep perfume and deodorant away from the zari border, as chemicals tarnish the gold and silver threads over time.
